With the Nintendo Wii U slated for release in just over a month, Nintendo today dropped the price of the original Wii console. The new price, $129.99, includes a black Wii console, a black Wii Remote Plus, a black Nunchuk controller and two games – Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. The new configuration is beginning to arrive in stores now, and will be broadly available in the United States by Oct. 28.
Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort helped launch the Wii into the sales stratosphere before it eventually ceded that position to the Xbox 360. The games include a variety of sports that use the Wii’s motion controllers in unique ways, such as bowling, tennis, baseball, archery, table tennis and basketball.
For the first time, both games are included on a single game disc.
