Nintendo today announced two new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games for the Nintendo DS, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. Both games will ship in April.
Both Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness will feature randomized dungeons as players journey through a land untouched by humans.
Before the game starts, players take a test to help them figure out which of 16 Pokemon best represents their playing style and personality. Once their Pokemon is assigned, players will play through their adventure through the eyes of that Pokemon as they team up with 490 other Pokemon to embark on their journey.
In addition to having more than 490 Pokemon in the game itself, players will be able to widen their circle of Pokemon friends through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Using Nintendo Wi-Fi, players can engage in wireless rescue operations and send alerts to their friends via e-mail or mobile text message.
Owners of the two previous Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, may wonder how these newest games will compare. According to Nintendo, everything’s been beefed up, from the story to the wireless aspects, but the biggest change has been the enhanced graphics.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness will ship for Nintendo DS on April 20.
