PS3 and PS4 owners love their PlayStation Plus free games for October, but the PS Plus program offers a lot more than just freebies. For instance, PlayStation Plus subscribers can get discounts on a slew of games, some of which are higher-profile than others.
The PlayStation Plus game Strength of the SWORD is one such game. Strength of the SWORD is “indie” to its core, having a development team of just two guys: a programmer (Georgi) and an artist (Lyubo). Starting today, Oct. 14, the PlayStation Plus game Strength of the SWORD is just 99 cents.
Normally the indie game costs $5. The discount to 99 cents lasts until Nov. 18, so if you’re on the fence, you’ve got just over a month to take the plunge. Taking advantage of the discount requires that you be a PlayStation Plus member.
We don’t do PSAs here all that often, but the sincerity of the development team’s note to us was inspiring. The guys said “The handful of gamers who have stumbled onto it have responded very positively to it. With the upcoming promo bringing the price down to 99c, the game will be an awesome deal for gamers looking for a challenge. This Promo is basically our last shot at getting the game noticed.”
So look, if you’re into indie games and want to rebuild at least one two-man studio’s faith in their craft, go grab the PlayStation Plus game Strength of the SWORD sometime between today and Nov. 18. For 99 cents, it’s not like your vote of confidence is going to cost you all that much.
