The new-look Prince of Persia is just about ready to hit the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, Ubisoft announced today, as the first next-gen Prince of Persia game has officially “gone gold” for all three platforms.
In addition to an all-new graphical appearance (it looks like a game made of concept art), the new Prince of Persia game will also introduce a new AI “companion” who keeps the Prince from dying. Instead, she will appear as needed to rescue the prince from bottomless pits by catching him and placing him on a nearby ledge, and she will appear in mid-air to help the Prince double-jump across wide chasms.
Prince of Persia for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC sees the Prince caught in an epic battle between the primal forces of light and darkness: the God of Light, Ormazd, versus his brother Ahriman, the destructive God of Darkness. The Prince arrives just in time to witness the destruction of the legendary Tree of Life, an act that threatens to plunge the entire world into eternal darkness. Manifested in the form of the Corruption, a dark substance that physically contaminates the land and the skies, the Prince must partner with Elika, a deadly companion, to heal the world from the evil Corruption.
