I can’t hide my excitement for Red Dead Redemption, so I’m not even going to try. I love all things Old West, so to hear that the Red Dead Redemption release date is finally official is music to my ears. Red Dead Redemption will ship for PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 27, 2010, in North America and April 30, 2010, internationally.
Red Dead Redemption is the successor to the 2004 standout game Red Dead Revolver. Red Dead Redemption recreates the American West at the turn of the 20th century, with players filling the outlaw boots of John Marston. Marston, who was blackmailed by the government and had his family threatened, is forced to traverse the unforgiving Western frontier to find members of his former gang. Marston’s journey takes him from the lawless frontier to civilized towns to a Mexico that’s on the brink of a full-scale civil war.
With that storyline, the developers’ pedigree and knowing that the game is built on the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE) and Euphoria physics, I’m fairly confident in saying Red Dead Redemption is simply going to rock. I can’t wait to pick it up. Bring on the Old West!
