Red Steel 2, the Wii-exclusive sequel to the Wii-exclusive launch title, will ship during the 2009 holiday season, Ubisoft has announced. Before would-be buyers dismiss it altogether, though (the original Red Steel bombed), they should know this: Red Steel 2 will support Wii MotionPlus.
Set in a high-tech metropolis, Red Steel 2 will use Wii MotionPlus to translate all player movements onto the screen, putting even more emphasis on accurate swinging of the katana and shooting of the gun.
Red Steel 2 will be the first Ubisoft title to incorporate Wii MotionPlus, a Nintendo technology that senses minute twists of the wrist and movements of the arm.
