Rock Band 2 has been out for a few weeks on Xbox 360, leaving plenty of PS3, Wii and PS2 owners wondering when they’ll get to rock out on their system too. Today, MTV and Harmonix cleared that all up:
Rock Band 2 will ship for PS3 on Oct. 19 (next week), while Rock Band 2 for the Wii and PS2 will ship “in December.” No specific Wii or PS2 dates were available as of publishing this article.
If you’ve not yet ordered your copy of Rock Band 2, we suggest doing so from Amazon at the links below. If the original’s success last year is any indication, it could end up being very hard to find at retail. The pre-order links from Amazon are as follows:
Rock Band 2 for PS3 | Rock Band 2 for Wii | Rock Band 2 for PS2
In addition, the Xbox 360 Rock Band 2 Special Editionwill be available on retail shelves Oct. 19. The non-Special-Edition version of the game shipped in mid-September.
Rock Band 2 for Wii, developed by Pi Studios under the direction of Harmonix, will include online World Tour and Battle of the Bands modes, a character creator and weekly downloadable content. Rock Band 2 Wii owners can expect more than 100 songs on the Rock Band 2 Wii soundtrack and an additional 30 downloadable tracks available for purchase at launch. In addition, Harmonix will roll-out the downloadable content every week until the entire back catalog is available.
