After letting gamers rock out and learn the guitar on the PS3 and Xbox 360, Ubisoft has announced that the Rocksmith 2014 Edition for Xbox One and PS4 will ship on November 4. It will mark the first time the guitar-training franchise has appeared on the next-gen consoles.
Rocksmith 2014 Edition for Xbox One and PS4 will let players use integrated streaming and capture features on the two consoles to record and share their best performances. Those tools will also let gamers show off their favorite custom tones from the in-game Tone Designer.
Rocksmith 2014 Edition will be presented in full HD 1080p on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
On PlayStation®4 system, Rocksmith 2014 Edition will support Remote Play through PS Vita. Players can also view songs at a locked mastery level without any scoring or input required, letting them review a song in its entirety, study specific sections of songs or practice in another room entirely.
Rocksmith 2014 Edition includes more than 50 tracks, with more than 300 additional songs available for purchase. If you’ve already bought a ton of songs on the previous-gen versions, Rocksmith 2014 Edition for Xbox One and PS4 will let you import your full track libraries. It’ll be tied to specific platforms, as Xbox 360 songs only move over to the Xbox One version of the game, while PS3 songs only move over to the PS4.
The standard edition includes the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable and a unique 1/4″-to-USB cable developed exclusively for Rocksmith. You’ll need your own guitar, though. Remember, this is a game to learn how to play a real-life guitar, not to learn just how to time button presses to match colors.
