Ronin, an action film best known for its car chase scene, is coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 24, 20th Century Fox/MGM announced today. Or is it? As Blu-ray early adopters will recall, Ronin has been given “official” release dates no fewer than two times, only to have the movie fail to appear at retail.
Presuming this Blu-ray release date for Ronin is to be believed, Robert DeNiro and Jean Reno, Natasha McElhone and Sean Bean will finally see their covert-agents-gone-deadly story release in high definition for the first time. Click the following link to pre-order Ronin on Blu-ray
Although Ronin’s Blu-ray bonus features have not yet been specified, Fox did say that Ronin on Blu-ray will be authored in MPEG-2 on a single-layer 25GB disc. Its audio track will be presented in both 5.1 DTS HD Lossless Master Audio and English Dolby Surround 5.1, and it will include French, Spanish, Korean and Cantonese subtitles.
In Ronin, the Cold War may be over, but a new world order keeps a group of covert mercenaries employed by the highest bidder.
