OK console owners, here’s the skinny: the official Slender Man video game is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 later this month. The game, called Slender: The Arrival, has been on PC for some time but will make its console debut on Sept. 23 and 24.
For those who care about such things, the PS3 has a one-day timed exclusive over the Xbox 360. You’d be surprised how much some people will make a stink out of that. Or maybe you wouldn’t….
Developed by four-person indie developer Blue Isle Studios, Slender: The Arrival is the only official Slender Man game. The title puts players in the epicenter of the mystery surrounding the enigmatic Internet persona that has captivated and terrorized millions.
Slender: The Arrival wraps players in a dark, foreboding atmosphere and a story fraught with terror, paranoia and other-worldly forces.
This latest iteration in the Slender Man universe expands the canon established by the original web-series, with some new twists and extended content for the console audience.
The new content will be free DLC for Steam and PC players who already own Slender: The Arrival.
Slender: The Arrival includes new story elements and offers extended levels that continue to unfold the Slender Man mythos. Players are enveloped in a world of sensory deprivation filled with haunting visions and audio cues that create an ominous backdrop perfect for fostering a healthy dose of tension and paranoia. The ultimate goal is to follow the clues and unravel the mystery, but survival will be gamers’ more immediate goal.
Slender: The Arrival is rated T for teen, so parents worried about expletives and crazy violence in such a horror-infused game can relax just a bit. The game will be available as a digital download only. It will hit the PlayStation Store on Sept. 23, and the Xbox Store for Xbox 360 on Sept. 24.
Both versions of the game will cost $9.99.
