Now that Nintendo is selling the 3DS system in larger quantities, it makes sense for the company to start playing with limited-edition hardware. As luck would have it, when you head into your favorite game store or onto Amazon, you’ll now be able to find special-edition Pokemon X and Pokemon Y 3DS systems, in limited quantities of course.
Fans who are excited for the upcoming release of the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y games on Oct. 12 will get a kick out of having these special-edition Pokemon X and Pokemon Y Nintendo 3DS XL systems in stores. Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are the next installments in the Pokemon series and feature a new generation of Pokemon, new Mega Evolutions and a host of new features. The games will be sold separately when they launch for Nintendo 3DS on Oct. 12.
The Pokemon X and Pokemon Y 3DS systems each feature the likenesses of Legendary Pokemon Xerneas from Pokemon X and Legendary Pokemon Yveltal from Pokemon Y. These special-edition 3DS XL systems are available in either red or blue at a suggested retail price of $199.99 each. You can read more about them at these Amazon links: Pokemon X & Y Limited Edition 3 DS XL (Red) and Pokemon X & Y Limited Edition 3 DS XL (Blue).
Note that the new Pokemon games themselves are not included in the special-edition — and very limited-edition — packages. The new Pokemon X and Pokemon Y 3DS systems are truly that: systems. So, even if you buy the hardware today or this week, you’ll still need to wait until Oct. 12 for the new games to arrive.
