Minneapolis, Minnesota – Sprocketwire, Inc. today is pleased to announce that Strange Matter 1.0 for iOS has been approved for release in all regions on Thursday, November 8th, 2012. Strange Matter is an action game that puts the player in the role of investigating a strange energy substance overwhelming Space Station Alpha-19. The player must find and neutralize all of the dangerous substance and clear the station of danger.
The player encounters a variety of enemy types and will use an energy blaster to deal with them. The player must also search for hidden codes throughout the thirty levels of increasing challenge. The final goal for the player: enter the science vault deep within the space station to determine the root cause of this troublesome strange matter affecting the station. The player must find all of the codes hidden throughout the game to enter the game’s final area and complete their mission.
In addition to surviving all thirty levels in the game, the player has the option to challenge themselves with target completion times and scores for each of the levels. There is a scoring layer to the game which tallies up points based on how much energy is neutralized, how many enemies are destroyed, and how quickly it’s done. String together actions and receive huge combo multipliers to achieve that lofty score!
“We set out to make a tilt-controlled game in a sci-fi setting. We wanted to create some really cool sci-fi artwork and match it with a custom soundtrack.” explained Aaron Prust of Sprocketwire, Inc. “We hope people like the end result!”
“We wanted to make a game that was easy to pick up and play, but provided a challenge once you dig into it” continued Phil Schwarz. “So don’t get too confident after you breeze through the first couple of levels!”
