The 2008 Summer Olympics debut tomorrow, and since it’s a safe bet most of us aren’t exactly in the right shape to pole vault, sprint or swim very fast, Conspiracy Entertainment has released a Wii and PS2 game that’ll let us live out our Olympic fantasies in the living room.
Summer Athletics, the name of the new game, includes more than 25 sporting events such as sprinting, archery, javelin, hammer throw and swimming. The PS2 version is only $14.99, while the Wii version is $29.99. Those prices mean it’s not like vicarious athletes need to pony up too much to play the game.
In addition to the 25+ events, Summer Athletics includes a character editor, career mode, 3D animations and “realistic” environments. And yes, the Wii version supports Wii Remote controls. Did you really need to ask?
