When today’s moviegoers think of action films involving jungles, they conjure up images of movies like Predator or Apocalypse Now. But many years before those films, in 1964, a film called The Seventh Dawn (or The 7th Dawn, which is how its movie posters were printed) birthed the jungle action-film genre and even addressed terrorism to a certain degree. Until today, The Seventh Dawn had never been released on DVD, thus keeping many people from watching it. And until today, nobody had been able to give a copy of the DVD away for free. Isn’t it nice how times change?
In The Seventh Dawn, William Holden fights Communist terrorists hell-bent on winning Malayan “independence.” The action-packed, edge-of-your-seat adventure also stars Susannah York.
