Electronic Arts today took the wraps off of two new versions of The Godfather: The Game, one each for the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. Both the PS3 version, called The Godfather: The Don’s Edition, and the Wii version, called The Godfather: Blackhand Edition, will both ship in March.
The Godfather: The Don’s Edition (PS3) will include the core game as well as “The Corleone Expansion Pack,” which features new gameplay and missions. Both versions will have enhanced combat controls by making the innovative Blackhand Control possible through the Wii’s motion-sensing remote and the PS3’s Sixaxis controller.
The Godfather: The Don’s Edition and The Godfather: Blackhand Edition will also offer new ways for players to go from Soldier to Don: they can follow the path of an Enforcer or an Operator, each with its own unique perks and abilities.
Additional new content will include two revised compounds of rival Families, five new contract hits and the ability to call-in larger Corleone “hit squads” when the going gets tough. The Don’s Edition also has new Shipyard and Rail yard transportation hubs.
