The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria, the first expansion for LOTRO, is available today and awaiting would-be Middle-earth saviors to tame the evil that now rises within. In addition to a new storyline, LOTOR: Mines of Moria also gives players some new abilities that are oh-so-appropriate for the dwarven caves.
Mines of Moria includes 10 new levels, the massive underground region of Moria, two new playable classes (Rune-keeper and Warden), new monsters and a new Legendary Item Advancement system.
This new system lets players forge unique weapons and class-related equipment, eventually evolving them to build a legacy a la Bilbo’s Sting and Gandalf’s Glamdring. These legendary weapons grow in power along with the player through their adventures, and they can be customized by advancing the item’s virtues, adding runic legacies and modifying its title.
In addition, players of The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria can advance their characters up to level 60, opening access to a wealth of new traits, virtues, skills and class quests. The crafting system also now offers a new Tier and gives players the ability to join crafting guilds to create even more powerful items.
