Hamburg, Germany – The Tivola mobile department announced impressive metrics today, with over 4 million downloads of its most popular apps. The company has rocketed to become a top player for children’s and educational games in international app stores.
“We were very excited when we hit the 4-million mark for our app downloads,” says Lars Poeck, Head of Marketing at Tivola Publishing GmbH. “It’s such a wonderful feeling to know that so many players are enjoying and learning from our apps.”
The biggest fan favorites are PetWorld 3D: My Animal Rescue, HorseWorld 3D: My Riding Horse, and Successfully Learning: Math, German and English.
Tivola first attracted attention with its Capt’n Sharky Preschool-iPad app. In the spring of 2012, the app reached number one across all of the top charts for iPad in the iTunes App Store for Germany.
“The app’s success showed us how the App Store can open up a completely new way to develop games. We are constantly in communication with our users, we can share with them, and we can take their requests to heart,” says Hendrik Peeters, producer at Tivola.
Tivola’s primary market has always been Germany for its classic gaming business of Nintendo DS, Wii and PC games, but with mobile apps the German market accounts for less than 20% of Tivola’s total sales. The publisher continues to localize and publish its games in more and more countries and regions. Dreamjob Kid’s Doctor – My Little Hospital, for example, is one of the latest Tivola apps available to play in Brazilian Portuguese. The little pirate Capt’n Sharky is now available for Russian preschoolers to learn spelling, numbers and their first English words. China is the next big market. Concentration – The Attention Trainer was awarded Apple’s “App of the Year 2012,” and is now also available in Chinese.
Many new Tivola apps are planned for release this year. Interested gamers can check out the latest news on releases and updates on the developer’s Facebook page.
