Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise is shipping today for the Nintendo DS, but before you think Microsoft has suddenly decided to overtly support a Nintendo platform, you should realize that the Rare-developed DS game is being published by THQ.
Based on the original Viva Pinata game for Xbox 360, Pocket Paradise allows players to develop the ultimate pinata paradise with the swipe of a stylus. Players will inherit a neglected garden on Pinata Island and need to turn it into paradise through a number of activities such as garden cleaning and decorating, vegetation growth and management, and pinata caretaking.
As players watch their gardens grow, they will attract new pinatas, including seven brand new species. A new Playground Mode will allow players to create a fertile garden full of exciting and exotic pinatas, while numerous items may be shared among friends using the Nintendo DS local wireless connection.
Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise also includes 12 playable levels based on actual episodes from the TV show.
Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise carries a retail price of $29.99.
