Tonight’s Monday Night Football game in Week 2 could go either way. And that’s just the way ESPN likes it. The Philadelphia Eagles enter tonight’s Monday Night Football game ranked in the Top 10 in four major statistical categories. However, the Eagles also enter tonight’s MNF game against the Indianapolis Colts with a slew of injuries that could give the Colts and quarterback Andrew Luck extra energy at home.
Last week the Eagles were down by 17 points before quarterback Nick Foles led the Eagles to a comeback win against the Jaguars. After his slow start, Foles finished the game 27-of-45 for 322 yards and two touchdowns, guiding the Eagles to enter tonight’s Monday Night Football Week 2 showdown with the league’s #4 total offense, seventh-ranked passing game and ninth-rated ground attack.
The Eagles also have the NFL’s eighth-ranked defense, which they’ll line up tonight against the Indianapolis Colts’ 31st-rated ground game. Indy’s offense begins and ends with the passing game though, and the Colts have the league’s top-rated passing game behind QB Luck. Luck completed 35 of 53 passes for 370 yards and two touchdowns in last Sunday’s loss.
Although it’s ranked just 23rd in the league, the Colts defense will go against an Eagles team that enters tonight’s MNF game with key injuries to its offensive line. Last week against Jacksonville, for instance, the Eagles offensive line allowed five sacks in just the first half. The backups allowed no sacks in the second half, but can that pattern hold up for a full game?
Vegas doesn’t think so. Philadelphia is +3 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. Although the Indianapolis Colts always play tough at home, the Eagles have been tough on the road under Chip Kelly with a 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS record in their last six road games.
Which is to say nobody really knows what to expect when they watch tonight’s Eagles Colts game. Monday Night Football will be broadcast live on ESPN starting at 8:30 EST / 5:30 PST. If you can’t catch the live TV broadcast, you can watch Eagles vs Colts live Monday Night Football online free via the Watch ESPN website or on DirecTV’s website. The latter requires you to have the NFL Sunday Ticket MAX package, but if you do you can watch tonight’s MNF game online free via the DirecTV live stream on a tablet, smartphone or PC.
