If you’re riding a high after seeing The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on opening weekend, this news is just for you. In 2014, Warner Bros. Interactive will release LEGO The Hobbit featuring all of your favorite characters from the first two films, including Bilbo, Gandalf and the Dwarves of Erebor. The game will take players on a journey through the darkest forests and deepest caves of Middle-earth. It will surely do so with a healthy dose of humor as well, if the LEGO The Hobbit trailer below is any indication.
LEGO The Hobbit will ship for the major game consoles, including the Xbox One and PS4, in 2014. You can pre-order LEGO The Hobbit from Amazon to ensure you get the version you’re looking for.
LEGO The Hobbit sends players of all ages on an interactive journey through the first two films in The Hobbit Trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Players will follow Bilbo Baggins as he is recruited by the Wizard Gandalf to aid Thorin Oakenshield and his Company of Dwarves. Bilbo leaves the comforts of the Shire on a journey through Middle-earth to help the Dwarves reclaim their lost Kingdom of Erebor within the Lonely Mountain.
Along the way, Bilbo (and thus players of the game) encounters ravenous Trolls, dangerous Orcs and Gollum and his precious Ring. Players will utilize and combine the Dwarves’ unique abilities to solve what Warner Bros. says are “the most diverse quests of any LEGO videogame to date.”
