It’s Monday, and that means Nintendo has uploaded two new games to the Wii Virtual Console. This week’s offerings, Fantasy Zone and Mega turrican, both come from Sega systems (the Sega Genesis and Sega Master System).
Fantasy Zone (500 Wii Points) has players take command of the spaceship Opa-Opa and blast their way through various fantastical levels taking out all the enemy bases. Once players have destroyed the bases, it’s time (of course) to take on a boss. Players can upgrade all the guns and bombs in this side-scrolling shooter by accessing the in-game shop.
Mega Turrican (800 Wii Points), meanwhile, makes players assume the role of Bren Mcguire, the last survivor of the United Freedom Forces, who is on a mission to tackle The Machine, which has enslaved the galaxy under its tyrannical rule. Players fight through hordes of enemies in the game’s 15 levels, using the weapons and power-ups of the Turrican Assault Suit to eliminate their foe.
