The World of Tanks Xbox 360 version took E3 by storm this year, and it’s safe to say that it’s one of only a handful of current-gen announcements that has still kept people interested amid the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One console launches. It’s with that rabid fanbase in mind that Wargaming today announced the first details of the World of Tanks Xbox 360 open beta weekend.
Starting today (Nov. 7) and running through Sunday (Nov. 10) at 11:59pm PST, Wargaming will launch the World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition Open Beta along with “a ton of cool stuff” to go with it. After the Open Beta weekend ends, Wargaming will no longer take World of Tanks beta registrations, so if players don’t get in this weekend, they won’t be able to get in until World of Tanks Xbox 360 actually hits retail.
It’s worth noting that the World of Tanks Xbox 360 beta will still run after the Open Beta weekend. However, Wargaming will no longer accept any further registrations for access.
During the Open Beta weekend, players will no longer need to sign up to receive a beta key or the like. All they’ll need to do is download the client from the Xbox Live Marketplace and get right into the game.
Now, for the “ton of cool stuff” Wargaming mentioned. As a “thank you” to beta players, all players who register, download and play the game during the overall beta will receive a premium USA T14 tier III heavy tank at launch. Plus, on Saturday, Nov. 9, players who play five battles between 5pm PST and 8pm PST will qualify to receive a premium USA Ram II tier V medium tank when the game comes out.
The Ram II tank will only be available to earn for this short window of time, so it’s in players’ best interest to play during the times outlined above. And, most excitingly, we’re going to have a full Double XP weekend from 2am PST on Saturday, Nov. 9 to 2am Monday, Nov. 11.
